RAM upgrading. What would you do?

What I'm a little confused over is, isn't your typical DDR ram supposed to run at 400? Not 200?

It run's at 200 but it act's like 400 hence the name "Double Data Rate"

Some systems "lag" if the ram's too mixed up. Though what in the hell do you need 3+ gigs for? Lol. My dad's business network hardly uses 2.

4x 512 mb sticks will probably run a lot smoother

That's what I was afraid of, I thought it might have some slower running speeds if the ram was of different sizes, but hey maybe I'm wrong!

Hell I told some people I bought more ram and they thought I was nuts, thinking that 1gb alone was far beyond what I need. But hey, I like a fast pc, and I'm quite a gamer too.

I went with the 4x512 though. I looked in my newegg account history and found the exact same ram I ordered before and just reordered it. So I'll have 4x512 of the EXACT same kind of ram.

Which reminds me, you can mix and match different brands of ram, can't ya?

i think so yea.........that is i am assuming that the type will be same........ddr for ddr, so on........me planing an upgrade too, and does one get ram of 512 at rates of different kinds? like 512 200 mhz, and 512 33 mhz so on so forth, or do i just change it in bios?
