get the MSI K8N NEO4-F mobo sense you arent OCing

the opteron is dual core and way cheaper then the 4400+ and they both have 2MB cache.

Why should he get that ram if he's not going to oc. There is ram that is atleast 40 bucks cheaper and you wouldnt even notice the difference.
That's not overclocking RAM. It's more expensive, because it is 2gb, not one, and it has 2-3-2-5 timings at 2.6v.

ok can some one just pm me a build because i have no clue what any of this 2-3-2-5 timings at 2.6v and stuff is i just want to find the components for it and buy it december 16 and it has to have all the stuff as posted in thread one for under $1800

if you are on a budget, don't get the Creative X-Fi. use the onboard sound on the DFI or MSI board.

and yeah the MSI K8N Neo4-F is great for the money. it's the second best socket 939 PCI-E board to the DFI, but is cheaper.

and if you have enough money, get the 7800 GTX instead of the GT. it has 4 extra pipelines (GT has 20, GTX has 24)
they are basically paths which each pixel is processed. the more pipelines it has, the more pixels the card can process at one time.

This leaves you an extra $200 for the monitor, keyboard and mouse, I recommend you get the ones I listed earlier. Also, I would hurry and get the CPU, there is only a limited stock. If the price is STILL to much, just get the OEM Audigy2 ZS sound card instead, but I highly recommend that if you can afford it, get the X-fi XtremeMusic.
