XP Home not showing open programs on task bar

I just got a new laptop and since I have it at home, I have been playing a alot. But, somehow, I seemed to have lost the ability to go to the task bar and see all the screens that I have open. If I minimize, I am screwed!! Or... I right click on the task bar and view the task manager. It is really annoying and would like to have the default back. Thanks!!

Can you post a screenshot of what your taskbar currently looks like?
(Shift-Print Screen and then paste it in Paint and save as a .gif file)

Here is my screen shot. As you can see, the forum is open, but there is nothing on the task bar to indicate the program is actually open...

my file doesn't seem to want to upload... sorry. I am clicking on browse, grabbing the file and it isn't working... what am i doing wrong?

Hmm, well for now, if you minimize a program and can't see it, just press "alt-tab" to scroll through the opened applications. It's not solving your problem, just helping the current situation hah.

i suppose thats the way of doing it - keep a check on the size - hope its a jpeg format
