no if xp doesn't work drop to 98se. 2k has too many similarities to xp for it to work much more effectively

I remember hearing somewhere that windows 2000 takes more memory than xp...

I've never had 2000, so... is that true/\

nope. and I've used both.
2000 will run okay on a system with 64MB of RAM, while XP would be extremely slow on the same system.

my school has dell optiplex's in the library with windows 2000 running on 256 MB RAM....they're blazing fast!!! WOW!!!

in my computer lab, they have the same computers with double the RAM and windows XP...god they're slow

yah 2000 pro is very light weight i had it on a p3 550mhz with 768 it was a perky system.

I used Win XP on my old computer 650mhz 64mb ram
so sloooooooow

And there is a Vista cutdown that only lets you run 3 programs at a time. Better off staying with win 3.1

dont bother even thinking about xp unless you have 256 MB RAM minimum, and even thats slow....
