Win Xp Shutdown But Restart Instead.

Hi Guys...

I have encounter a problem when using Win XP pro. I could not shut down the system when i press turn off icon. instead, it reboot the system again. Therefore, i have to do a hard reboot to turn off the system. can anyone help me to solve my problems...

do u think it could be hardware and not a windows error??

i had a similar problem with my pc where it would not stay off, it would shutdown for about a second and turn right back on.... then it was fixed by downloading an update for my motherboard

hi radguy. i not very sure is it hardware or software problem. at first it can shut off normally. but after i install other software into it, it won't shutdown but will restart the system. i even format my hard disk and the problem still there. can you give me some suggestions??? thanks...

how long have you been facing the problem ? did you recently install a prog or somthing ? if so try uninstalling that prog. i would say it is mostly a software problem.
