error when launching application

i have a problem when opening an application:

the following error occurs.

The instruction at 0c10048df2 referenced memory at 0x0000000c the memory could not be read.

any help would be appreciated or a general step by step guide to fixing memory problems.

is this with all apps or just a certain app?

Its the NAL on the Novell network. When the NAL is displayed it lists all the applications that the user can access. It seem to occur only with this feature.
