Opteron overclocking

Yes they are almost the same processor. All AMD 64bit cpu's will be the same as far as overclocking. Only difference is multipliers.
 
just make sure you watch your temps, i seen people hit 70C with just the slightest vcore increase
 
There is a real good guide to OCing the A64 setup, which is going to be **** near the same as Opteron. It really matter what motherboard you have as to changing FSB, HTT or whatever it is.

Actually, even a good Athlon 64 is = FX-57. A good Opteron is more like FX-59 (3.0GHz) or FX-61 (3.2GHz, for the record, FX-61s will never exist).
 
Because AMD said so...atleast not a single-core FX-61.

Actually, I think there were plans to scratch the FX-59 also and to just go straight to Dual Core, but I might just be confused about that.
