which is better for gaming? cause i dont know.

The bottom one is a server cpu as it doesn't fit most atx motherboards because its socket 940. The 3200 is better for what you'd be doing.

yeah just noticed the server thing and want the 144 or the 148 venus but i do want to save money or is the 148 worth the 75$ more than the 144?

Athlon 64 is a PC processor. You can overclock it just the same too. It'll work just fine for you, and the Opteron isn't going to kick it's butt or anything. Not worth the extra cash if you ask me.

yeah theres a difference in the 144 and 3200+ venice the Operating Frequency is .4 different but overclocking takes care of that. And the 144 is cheaper and it also has a 1mb L2 cache while the #200+ has 512mB L2 cache

The whole reason people buy the Opterons is because they are tested under heavy loads, are cheaper than the Athlon 64's, and overclock higher most of the time.
