well live and learn. I have an antec in my existing machine but it is only 400W and doesn't have the connects for SATA or PCIE x16

yeah I guess I screwed up on the PSU. I will try the Xion out for a while and replace it (probably with the enermax) if I have any trouble. I don't exactually have money to burn but I really enjoy my games and love electronics even though, as STe so eloquently pointed out, I am hardly in league with any real techies. I'm a carpenter for crying out loud! Anyway thanks all and I will just hang my head on my erroneous PSU purchase

JoeF, don't worry about all these little kids. They think they know what their talking about because they can read a few reviews on a few websites. They don't have any money, nor have they any experience with 95% of what they talk about. The only thing they know is their mom & pop's HP or DELL or Compaq, that they might have been lucky to upgrade with a NVIDIA 6600GT.

You can think you know everything about Ferrari's but until you've driven one, you don't know jack. That's basically the boat every single one of these kids is in. And it's sinking fast.

Nice PC. Good Luck with it.

thanks HAVOC2k5, for the POS reply. POS meaning positive this time lol. I count myself lucky that the only thing (so far) that I have gotten any negative feedback on was the PSU. I was so busy researching everything else that I fell short in that area (and memory a little I think) If there is anything I have learned in this game it's that there will always be something better. Having the "best" is always short lived though, I would hope to stay ahead of the software for at least a year or so with this one though I am probably going to get slammed with multithreaded games before too long where a dual core chip would actually mean something for qaming. AMD has announced they are coming out with a dual core FX when there is a use for it. So I will try to be happy until then : ) J.F.

P.S. I love the computer guy. Reminds me I haven't checked out www.stickdeath.com in a while

Heres a better Power supply.

I know alot more about Power supplies and anything computer related for that matter, it would be wise to take my advice.

If you knew anything about PSU's you would have recommend something better then that. With the type of hardware he's talking about buying, that PSU is meh.....

PC Power and Cooling is the best PSU money can buy: Argue? If you do, then it isn't wise to take your advice because you don't know anything about PSU's.

This one: http://www.pcpowercooling.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=T51SLI

Or This One: http://www.pcpowercooling.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=T85SSI

Or possibly even this one: http://www.pcpowercooling.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=TC1KW

Sure antec is ok. But with a beast like he's building, I'd personally go with something with a bit more balls.

Here's a great article. Read it.

Where were you before I bought the PSU I have coming? lol Yeah based on your review link I should have gone with the Seasonic. You know I read all the specs from an electricians point of view like for power consumption and production comparitively. The Xion has all the requirements in that area but what I should have taken more time to research was one a little more reliable, quiet, cool running etc

Even if it was directed at the umm.. PSU god the artical was useful to me. Thanx, JF
