How to make your extrnal harddrive make it the master harddrive so that it runs/ boots from the extrnal

your mother board must support it. I would assume the boot order in the bios would show USB or External as an option.

Please could you give me step by step how to do that and I have an
Maxtor
120GB
usb 2.0
harddrive how do i check if supported

Switch on your computer
Press delete to enter setup
Go to what is probably 'advanced options'
go to 'boot from'
If one of the options you can select to boot to is External or USB, then you can select that. If there is not that option, your BIOS/Motherboard does not support booting from external hard drives.
