I've had the same computer for 7 months; not added or removed any hardware since I got it. I keep my machine clean keeping dust out fans and vents all the time keep airflow going.

Recently my computer has started running hot while idle and setting off the overheat beep within 2 or 3 minutes of starting a game.

Using EVEREST:
My CPU @ 52c (125f) idle -- High as 82c (180f) in games
My SYS @ 48c (118f) idle -- High as 64c (147f) in games

My alarms are set at 80 and 60 with shut down temps at 85 and 65.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS: This all started right after I had to uninstall and then reinstall new ATI drivers, but I don't know if that could have anything to do with it or if I'm just associating it with the problem because it started after that. I had used Driver cleaner pro to clear out my drivers then reinstall the new ones again and I had thought that worked but my computer started doing it again shortly after.

Your vents are clean, but what about the hardware inside the case? Have you cracked the case and cleaned the dust off of everything?

Do a search for cleaning your computer, as I'm too tired to typr it all out agian. There's been several threads about it.
