Blank Screen Dell Inspiron 1150

When I turn on the laptop the blacklight is turning on but no pictures of the WindowsXP bootup screen or the logon screen... When pressing F8 the screen will flash and you can see the images... Was able to log on..... and when pressing F8; I could see the desktop...

This is a Dell Inspiron 1150 Laptop...

What do I need to do??? Should I replace the video card??? Can I replace the video card??? I am new to fixing computers and posting in forums...any info would help....

So Dell has a small problem with laptop screens................... Called 1 800 Buy Dell and they fixed the problem for free...They sent a tech out and he replaced the screen....Dell was very good in resloving the problem...
