I think this is the right forum to post this topic, if it isn't I appologize ahead of time.
Let's say I have a 200G Hard drive and I partition it in the following manner... these partitions are just imaginary for the purpose of my question.
Par 1 - 10G (XP system)
Par 2 - 40G (Music)
Par 3 - 50G (Games)
Par 4 - 50G (Software)
Par 5 - 50G (Other)
If I wanted to format any of these partitions in the long run, just to clean it up a little bit, and if I allowed hidden and system files to be viewed (just to make sure I wasn't missing anything) could I move the contents of one partition to another partition, format the now empty partition, and then move the file contents that once resided in the partition, back to the newly partitioned section of the hard drive? Or could this cause any type of error and if so, what errors could occur.
If this question is totally bogus as in I would never need to do such a thing to any of the partitions, let me know. This was just an idea that crossed my mind and wondered if it would ever make a difference if I was to do this. Thanks.
