when i type ipconfig / all in the run box the black screen just flashes and disappears. won't show any information.

You mean DOS closes?

Try ipconfig/all


Try typing in the run box. command, not cmd

then trying retyping command.

In the run box type in "cmd". Then in DOS type "ipconfig /all".

Of course it will just flash if you type ipconfig /all in the run box. That's what it does for everyone.
