The 7800GTX 512MB doesn't destroy ATI. Stop trying to start a freakin' Fanboy flame war dude. NVIDIA"s got the crown today... But, how long do you think it will last?

Look at all the benchmarks closer. The 7800GTX 512MB might score a fair amount higher in some benchmarks like 1024X768 no AA & no FF. But, what gamer in his right mind is going to pay $750.00 for a videocard and run it at those settings? NONE! Look at the 1024X768 4xAA & 8XAF they are virtually the same. Then look at both the 1600X1200 no AA & no AF vs. 1600X1200 4xAA & 8XAF. They are within a few hundred points. That's hardly destroying.

Plus, do you think ATI is blowing it's load on the X1800XT 512MB? lol - I don't think so. Watch the X1800XT appear with the platnium edition with like 700 - 800Mhz cores & 1800-1900Mhz memory.
Then those same benchmarks will favor ATI. A few weeks or months later... NVIDIA will hold the crown again...

It will go like this forever.

ATI - X1800XT 512MB = average - $600 USD
NVIDIA - 7800GTX 512MB = average - $749 USD

right now. whats the better buy? Destroyed? I don't think so.

Ah, who cares, most of you kids could never afford either one anyway. (Yeah that's right. I said that.)

everything HAVOC2k5 has said is very correct....this battle for the "best" video card will never end....

Yeah, uh I can agree with the information in that post, except for your first sentence. I'm not an nvida fanboy, I'm not any fanboy, I was just excited in the moment and how good the card was in 3dmark 05, so get off my case. And I don't care who the crown ever goes to because I will never be able to afford these cards anyways.

monarch has the 512MB GTX's for under $700

and also keep in mind, that these prices are only the initial prices. they could go down as more vendors get the cards out.

lol - hence my very last sentence in that post.

You may-not be a fanboy, but that certainly was a fanboy statement:

DESTROYS ATI
"link"

Didn't read up to that. I'll edit my first post
