motherboard, PSU trouble

hi,

My brother is complaining about his computer crashing a lot, I said its because its old and needs replacing but he`s blaming me for installing a new power supply to it.

Does anyone no if an ASUS A7 v133 motherboard can support the type of power supply I put in. It was a case psu 230V and atx had a 20 pin power connecter. Everything seemed to fit the same, unless there was a huge leap from old socket A motherboard power supplys to the one I put in. Although I find it doubtful any help would be very much appriciated.

an ATX psu is an ATX psu its as simple as that. all that matters is how much power it supplies (to power the devices in the pc) and whether it is 20 or 24 pin.

ok thankyou, its an old pc and doesnt need that much power and the power connecter was 20 pins and same on the motherboard. At least I cant be blamed for his pc dying thanks
