The Wonders of the 7800GT

All I can say is wow! I never thought my games could look this good and be this smooth. You all know my take on benchmarks, but they are fun to do anyways. Here are mine

3dMark05: 7375
3dMark03: 15032
Aquamark3: 70096

Ran into a little driver conflict with the Nvidia SW-IDE driver, but without that driver, this system runs like a dream.

good to see you now have a card you're happy with.
the 7800 GT will be able to run Doom 3 a lot better than your X800 Pro, especially being an Nvidia card.

aquamark is really system dependant like 3dmark01.

I get 7k higher in Aquamark but 1k lower in both 3dmark05 and 03

After you've overclocked the hell out of it. This is completely stock scores.

Just out of curisoity, what was the problems with the IDE drivers?

Anyway, Congrats, I love my 7800gt.

As long as the SW-IDE drivers were installed, I was getting a BSOD about 10 seconds after logging in to windows. I figured the problem out because eventually when it rebooted, it wouldn't start Windows and said the IDE driver was corrupted.

Thanks for clearing that up. I got BSOD on every reboot of installing new software. I ended up formatting again, and ended up leaving that out.

Will you be unlocking the 4 extra pipelines? (if it will let you.)

I don't think the extra pipes are unlockable on the 7800GT as they are with the 6800 NU. This thing is plenty fast, so I don't think im going to risk it.
