I used my mates steam account and just downloaded it from there, Steam try to be smart by making u have to use accounts for games such as half life 2 but instead theyre just making it easier for me to download the game

Ok, if you have a legit cd key just make an account and download HL2 on that... unless you mean without steam. Well then your getting illegal, there are steam emulators out there

Buy a copy of HL2, trust me its totaly worth it!
