Beeping Noise Please Help!!!!!!!!

I am using winxp professional: One day I was watching a movie using wmp 10 and all of a sudden the computer freezes, so I restart and try to restart the movie but all I hear is a loud non stop beeping noise, tried switching to realplayer but that didnt help either. Ive also noticed that wmp will lag. Please help

Can you explain the beep in higher detail ?
Usually the long beep or looping beep is caused my memory issues, however you are stating that when you start a movie this beep starts.

Does it sound like its coming from the speakers or the back of the computer ?

Please describe the sound as best you can.

im sure its coming from the 2 front speakers, all I can say about the noise is that a loud rapid beep and very annoying, by the way ive tried doing system restore but that didnt help either

Any new Hardware or Software ?


This issue is conflicting... The beeping issue usually comes from the BIOS... However the beep(s) that you describe would be from a memory problem... Have you altered any hardware, such as CPU/RAM/GPU ?

Im wondering if you had some registry damage when your machine crashed while playing that video...


Have you done a "Repair" on the Operating System ?

by the way I dont hear the noise unless I watch a movie or listen to a cd
