Lol why not blow the whole thing and just go for a 4800 X2? Its only around $700

And UT2007 has declared that it will utilize dual-core processors

Worth mentioning the Opteron 165...will perform roughly the same as the 3800+ but for a few bucks less...in addition, you're getting the larger L2 cache on the Opteron rather than having to spend money on a much more expensive 4400+ to have that feature

Opteron will also overclock fairly well and has a heat dump I think

Then what if any are the disadvantages of Opterons? I mean, not many people have them, except people who really know computers. It seems they certainly aren't as popular as X2's and Sandiego's....on paper they look aewsome.

For 3 bucks more go for 64 bit I don't see how anyone could dissagree.

They are both 64-bit, one is a dual processor. He was asking if he should go dual-processor or not.

I think you might as well go dual-processor as you will help yourself be "future proof."
