i lowered the virtual memory, and rebooted my system, what is lowering the memory supposed to do? Make windows use less memory?

yes. I would set the min and max to 1340 if you have 760. I would also put it on a second harddrive in it's own partition

I have turned mine off for the first time and seem to run fine for the moment. I'm going to burn some dvds and see what happens
