I currently have:

(1) POWERCOLOR R41AB-ND3D Radeon X700 256MB DDR PCI Express x16

and was wondering if i should switch to

(2) PNY Verto 6600 GT 128MB PCI Express (in SLI)

will it make that much of a diffrence?
is PNY 6600GT's good?

THanks Guys

~Joe

so SLI doesnt make that good of a diffrence???

is the PNY brand of it ok??

EDIT Will there still be a diffrence?

~Joe

i would go with eVGA, leadtek, gigabyte, MSI, or sometimes BFG

SLI doesnt give a 50% performance increase but ony like 10-30% and your spending twice as much money, and you coudl just buy 1 6800GT or GS which would pwn two 6600GTs

2 x 6600 GT's in SLI = 1 6800 GT or GS, except they take up 2 PCI-E slots. and that's just pointless, considering you can get a single card with the same performance for the same or less amount of money

good brands are eVGA, Leadtek, BFG and PNY. most people recommend eVGA

*edit* SLI actually does give around about 50% performance increase, although it was supposed to try and get double the performance.
a 50% performance increase is not worth it though. you are paying for 2 cards and getting the performance of 1.5 cards.

a 6600 GT is better in OpenGL (games like Doom 3 use it), but about equal in Direct3D (games like HL2 use it)
overall, it's not really worth upgrading unless you get at least a 6800

anyway, you're not going to get 2 6600 GT's under $100, or a 6800 vanilla, GS or GT
