Celerons are, in my opinion atleast, the crappiest processors on Earth.

Lets not mention that little piece of doo doo that AMD calls a CPU.......

Alright since you don't do any gaming what so ever, you don't need an AMD, so go ahead and stick with intel. I'd just get the best processor for your motherboard, which in your case would be a P4 @2.8Ghz, which is gonna be pretty good, especially for speed.

Im sure his motherboard can support over 2.8. His motherboard may need a bios flash for it to work or it may not. It prolly only says 2.8 because the fastest CPU out at the time the motherboard was made was the 2.8Ghz.

Semprons are practically the best overclockers on Earth, often reaching speeds which exceed those of the Athlon 64 line!

But thats cool if you don't like AMD, I don't take offense, its not like I'm AMDnese ^__^

I have no hatred to AMD, its just I prefer Intel. And for video cards, I am open to both sides.

my motherboards manual says it supports a maximum of 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4..

My motherboard is made by ASROCK, and is about 1.5 years old.

socket 775, thats what it says in the manual.

All it says is that it supports a maximum of 2.8 Ghz, any processor made by intel.
