wow....he came to us for help and u tore him down..u guys got issues...he wanted help so help him...some did and i am proud (rofl) but those that pretty much called him stupid should get a life...just cuz he dont' live around computers don't mean u shoudl tell him to use common sense (aka calling him stupid). i know installing a vid card is easy..i did it when i was 10 and i used nothing..just took da card out...pushed it in....screwed it down...plugged in monitor...and away i went playin cs...but still he came for help so just help him no matter how nub it might be.

He probably has onboard video and had it previously plugged into there.

The first thing I would recommend to so is remove all drivers and other software related to your old video card. Use both CONTROL PANEL > ADD/REMOVE programs in windows and well as removing all display drivers from CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM > HARDWARE > DEVICE MANAGER.

Then remove old card, install new card, reboot, install new drivers and software.

Doing it this way is fool proof...
