Windows Cannot Open .lnk files or rundll32.3xe

not quite if you have chosen "safe mode"
it basically runs the bare minimum required for Windows to run. it also means that nothing else runs on startup, including any viruses, spyware or anything like that
 
do you have your xp disk? if so, this just might be faster if you do a repair, which you will not lose any programs, it just repairs your os
 
I restarted in safe mode ( woo hoo figured out how ) then tried the program, the same thing that happened before happened now. So I'm not sure what that means. And I have my XP disk, I have no idea how to like do whatever you're talking about however... I'm like lost with all this stuff... a friend of mine used to do all my computer stuff for me... and I don't know the motherboard specs other than its an ASUS A8N-SLI.
