I don't care about the price difference. I want to know which one is better. The 6800GS can overclock to 540mhz core, and 1.23ghz memory. It only has 12 pipelines though. Here are some benchies showing the overclock GS spanking the GT- http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.aspx?page=10&articleid=747&cid=2

But how would the GS OC'ed compare to a GT OC'ed? That is what I want to know.

Also there is the matter of Nvidia saying that all the 6800 cards except for the GS are going to be going away.

Taken from AnandTech:
"All the new parts add a lot of confusion to the mix. With both ATI and NVIDIA bringing out essentially redundant parts, it's hard to know what to recommend or buy. Luckily, NVIDIA has cleared that up for us - the entire rest of the 6800 line is going away and only the 6800 GS will remain. As for ATI, it is very hard to address the amount of spring cleaning their line up needs (especially with the X1000 series parts coming out soon). "

I want to know what will last the longest and will perform the best!

I'm sorry, but it doesn't. I want a comparison between a 6800gt overclocked and a 6800gs overclocked, both to their highes potential, on air.

Any reasons why? According to those tests the 6800GS beats the Ultra, and the GT overclocks to Ultra speeds.
