game restarts at full screen

im new to computers and i dont know much so bare with me. my computer is restarting only when sacred game or winamp visualization goes into full screen mode. i can still play dvds full screen. please help the newbie.

Do you have the latest driver for your graphics card. If you don't know what a driver is, just ask.

What Video card, What is the rest of your system Specifications.

the vidoe card is an old temporary 'cause i ordered the wrong one at first. so i dont have any drivers for it.the rest of my system is 450 W PS, gigabyte GA-K8NS motherboard, AMD athalon 3000 socket 754, seagate (used) 40GB hard drive, blaster PCI 56k modem. my new video card is a nVidia 6600.

how do i turn down the hardware setings for my video card.

install the drivers for it, myself, I would just wait til I got the new card.
