already done all that...basicly its just storing the old username in there...it comes up with the old username whenever you come out of the screensaver or you are just loging into windows

What about a sysprep? This blows out the old profile and starts everything brand new.

cant start everything brand new...its a work computer and stuff is needed to be kept on it

here goes again
in registry editor go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\microsoft\windowsnt\current version\ winlogon ( click on winlogon)
now look in the right pane
see default user name
change that to what you want
should work
