IS there such a thing as a BIOS partition on a hard drive? I just formatted a laptop hard drive and I am unable to access the BIOS, I just want to verify what could be wrong.

Nope...BIOS is stored within the BIOS chip...if you're having a problem with your BIOS it's either corrupted or your CMOS battery is dying

nvm, after some hard google searching I found what i was looking for.... This is the first time I have seen this before.

"Generally Compaq Setup can be entered by hitting the 'F10' key when booting up. As soon
as you see the cursor go to the upper right hand side of the screen, hit 'F10'. Compaq setup
program resides on a small partition on the hard drive and if you have fdisked and
reformatted or installed a new hard drive you will need to use the Compaq setup program
