Everytime I play a game, I can play it about 5-10 minutes, then my screen just artifacts over and my GPU shuts down. Is my 6800GT fried? Or is there anything I can do about this?

Sounds like some overheating problems, did you overclock it? Call up the company and have them send you another one. :)

I'd suggest you stop trying to play games and wait for your aftermarket cooling since that beotch is hitting 90C+

all your doing to it everytime you go to play it is hurt it each time....if it still does it after the aftermarket heatsink then you might have to RMA

Its idleing around 66*C.....

I don't see how this could be a problem on stock cooling and stock speeds. It should come equipped to handle the temps on stock speeds.

it could be the VRAM also, not just the core.
also check that the cooler has been put on right. maybe use some AS5

I already did the AS5 thing....runs a tad cooler, but still way too hot...

looks like you might need an aftermarket cooler then.
there's some descent ones like the Thermalright V1, Arctic Silencer 5, Zalman VF700-Cu and Thermaltake Extreme Giant 3

BTW how come you didn't get an eVGA anyway? you could have used the step-up program to get the 7800
