Intel Celeron 325 (P) 2.53 GHz Slow as h3ll please help

i have a Intel Celeron 325 (P) 2.53 GHz on a compaq sr1114nx machine and i upgraded the ram to (2) 512mb 2300mhz chips so i have a total of 1 gig ram... only problem is my processor is maxxing out at 100% when my computer is only using a lil over 33% of my ram? I don't think that's normal.. is there a cap on the processor or some way to fix this...i've called manufacturer low and behold they had no idea what i was talking about.. anyone with answers Please help....

maybe check Task Manager, see how many processes are running..
check for Spyware/AdWare..
check for Viruses.

I have tried everything...I shutdown all non-important process's, tasks, everything. i've got the performance of my pc pretty well dialed in. As far as spyware ..ect. I run those programs at least every other day. i run two different spyware and virus detection progs. 1 trendmicro and 2 my Ez trust antivirus and spyware remover. I've never gotten anything back.. Plus i usually reformat my computer every 2-4 months.. just to make sure. a friend of mine said it may be a cap that is on the processor so it can't go past a certian performance. just like they do with your ethenet card.. when i tested my pc on cnet's bandwidth tester site http://reviews.cnet.com/Bandwidth_meter/7004-7254_7-0.html there's the link, after uncapping my ethernet card it says my connection speed is 272000 kbps! And even being on a cable connection after i opened up my connection I REALLY SAW A DRAMATIC CHANGE! so that's why i am curious as to why my manufactuer would specify 1gig of ram (which i called compaq and had them specify which memory chips to get) but only allow me to use 300mg of it. and i was wondering if anyone knew if possible how to uncap it or speed it up.. not necessarly overclocking but just letting it run as it should to it's capicity instead of being limited. thank you again for any replies.

Umm you should be able to see in task manager which process(es) are using up your cpu, if that's what the problem is.

there's not one in particular it's all of the main window process's my computer is running an average of 30 or less when i disable the one's i'm not using. But it still maxxes out. I believe it's a cap on the processor.. like a governer on a car. there has to be a way to disable it or to bypass it...

Cap or not, something is pulling your CPU down. By looking in Task Manager, you can see which processes are eating up your CPU.

Just follow the steps in order, and don't start yelling "I already did that". What would it hurt?

Thanks for the info... i went through and completed the list. seems to boot a little faster but i also have run BootVis. which speeds up the booting process. I guess it just seems that Intel processor's suck.. I spent all this money on my ram and not even half of it gets used. Oh well. thanks for trying guys I'll have to keep searching.
