3700+, mobo, PSU any good together???

Here's what i'm looking to get pretty soon. Any suggestions/mods are welcome. All other components that aren't here I already have. I don't plan to OC right away but might later down the road when i get better RAM.

Abit AN8 Ultra.

I want X2 support and i'm not going to go SLI or Crossfire.

AMD 3700+ SD.

OCZ Powerstream 520W.

ATI X1800XT or nVidia 7800 GTX 512
I'll decide after these cards have been out for a while.
Good choice -- though I'll bet that most people here will tell you to just get the GTX without waiting for any benchmarks  I personally will most likely be getting the XT, that overclock of 1000/2000 at XS pretty much made up my mind, however I will still wait for benchmarks. That PSU is fine -- but I would look into the DFI LanParty nF4 Ultra-D motherboard instead.

EDIT:

I want X2 support. The only DFI board with that is a crossfire board from what i saw on newegg (and it's about $90 more than what i put in the first post.).

well the 512 MB version of the GTX isn't just an increase of RAM, but it is also clocked at or around 550MHz core and 1800MHz memory (the origional is at 430MHz and 1200MHz). But I haven't seen any benchmarks from it and what the price is marked at(although Nvidia made this to compete the X1800XT so it might be priced around that) so I would wait.

But from what I hear that because the new 512 version w/ 24 pipes that the GTX has and with those speeds it will probably will out perform it. I wonder how far you can OC those things.

But the X1800XT can run some games such as FarCry that have HDR support w/ fulll AA which the GTX can't be done (I think all it can do with HDR enabled in FarCry is 2x AA), except HL2: Loast Coast which the GTX can fun HDR w/ full AA.

I plan on getting the new GTX w/ 512MB but I will wait untill I get some benchmarks.

a couple of Swedes have OC'ed the crap out of the 1800XT...hold on I'll find the link...

Yea I heard about that but the only problem that I see was that they were using some extreme measures to keep it cool such as dry ice and I won't go that far to OC my computer.

Also I hear that the 1800XT memory controller can handle 1024MB Ram but there won't be hardly any performance increase with current and next generation games.

i don't need any info on video cards, I've been as up to date as anyone here. Just kind of wondering about my other components i suppose. thanks guys. :)

Yeah the official specs on the 512mb 7800gtx will utterly destroy the x1800xt, if you read the link i added in my first post. they will have 24 pipes, 550mhz core, and 1.8ghz mem, compared to the x1800xt which has 16 pipes, 625mhz core and 1.5ghz mem. if those specs are real, the pressure is on ati to release an xtpe or something.

I have nothinga against your build sense mine will be practically the same. Only thing i have to say is get the DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D. It DOES have X2 support where as all s939 boards should. If the OLDER boards dont have the support then it will w/ an easy bios flash. You can easily search the forums for that one. I persoanly believe (not from being a fanboy) that the GTX512 w/ 24 pipes will cream the XT. IMO of course. I will wait to make full judgement on that when benchmarks i trust come out.
