Epp new hard drive wont show up

Hi all,

I just got my new Seagate 300gb Hard Drive. Apart from the annoyances of it arriving without any instructions or screws, i'm getting there.

My problem is that I didn't know where to put the jumper bit if I want it to be a slave. I guessed that it was no jumper for slave. And my second problem is that whilst the bios and windows xp are reading the drive, it does not show up in 'my computer'. I do not know what the freak is going on?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

When I go into disk manager, it shows the drive as unallocated.

AHAH! I found this nifty piece of jiggery pokery.

I needed to install SP2 to get the full 300gb reading, and the do a partition to well, get it working..
