I was thinking about this earlier today. I figured that a whole rig would cost about $5k, but thats with a nice monitor, keyboard, lazer mouse, speakers. Thats also with dual SLI 7800GTX, FX57, 2x 74GB raptors, 2GB high quality RAM, water cooled, etc.

yeah... quad sli (not sure if this exists or not but I have heard it somewhere), quad dual core opteron 880s etc...

I was thinking gaming with my estimate, but yeah, with quad opterons, , 4gigs RAM, etc you could spend a LOT more.
