7800GT more expensive the 6800 Ultra?

The BFG 7800GT is less expensive (and the cooler is smaller btw) then the BFG 6800 Ultra. Both PCIe

Any ideas why?

they didn't get the memo that the 7800 was the newer card?

from the specs given for the 7800GT, albeit a new core and all that, it's probably less powerful than the 6800Ultra something...could be the equivelant of the 6600GT for the newer range

Retailers buy products from manufacturers at a specific price. The BFG 6800 ULTRA OC'ed vs. 7800GT can't really be compared in price simply by which one is newer. They probably bought them at a pretty price, much higher then the 7800GT's. They simply just can't lower the price below the cost of the newer one. But over time, they will gradually start lowering the price if the newer one sells more then the one they have a buttload of stock on. Slowly the price will fall until they are absolutely giving them away.

That offended my graphics card!

The 7800gt has 20 pipelines! 425mhz core and 1050mhz on memory. And it is alot better than my old 6800, which is better then a 6600gt. And from benchtests, they say the same thing.

Anyway the 7800gt is better than a 6600gt in short.

The 7800gt has 20 pipelines! 425mhz core and 1050mhz on memory. And it is alot better than my old 6800, which is better then a 6600gt. And from benchtests, they say the same thing.

Anyway the 7800gt is better than a 6600gt in short.
