Removing Thermal Epoxy

I have now found out that the 6600GT has Epoxy on it. So the heatsink/fan practically glued onto the GPU.

The last time I saw this was on an old P4 that was trashed. It was a pain (what i did with the CPU would not be able to be done with the card.)

Is the best way to remove it the Hair Dryer method with sand paper and rubbing alcohol?

Flat Head Screw Driver. Just be careful.

Would it be safer to use plastic?
