Please clear this up for me...

My friend seems to think that an athlon xp processor at 1.8ghz would be faster than a p4 2.8ghz w/ hyperthreading. Will someone please tell him that he is out of his mind so he can read it from someone else

dude theres plenty of posted threads about which is faster, theres plenty of bench mark tests that you can view and show your friend, utilize the search button

could someone simply state taht a 1.8ghz processor is not as fast as a 2.8 , its common sense but he needs to hear (see) someone else say it

an XP2200+ running at 1.8ghz would be obviously slower than a p4 2.8ghz C or B version, heck it may be slower than the A version. a p4 2.2Ghz version B is comparable to a xp2200.

Not the greatest setup in the world but pricewise, nothing beats it
