Looking for a new CPU...

Heya,

I'm looking to do a bit of upgrading, but I'm not actually sure if my motherboard can handle much more.

Here are some of my specs:
MOTHERBOARD: Abit KX7-333(R) (6 PCI, 1 AGP, 4 DDR DIMM)
CPU: AMD Athlon XP, 1666 MHz (12.5 x 133) 2000+
RAM: 1024 MB (DDR SDRAM)
VID CARD: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 (128 MB)

I'm looking to get a new processor and a new vid card. I have a video card lined up (a Radeon 9800), but I don't even know if my M/B can handle a new processor.

Would anyone be able to point me towards somewhere that I could find out the fastest possible processor for my current setup?

Would the 2800 be significantly better than the 2000?

Also, will I need to make new allowances for cooling?
