IBM T20 LCD Back light turns ON & OFF

I have IBM T20 thinkpad, however, recently, my monitor back lights have been going OFF and ON. I still see some Windows in the back (very dark) but hardly can read anything.

When I tried to press the Ctrl + F? (to turn on the monitor) it lights up instantly and goes back off, and sometimes after many trials it stays ON for a while and goes off again when I try to move my mouse or type something. Also, one more think that I noticed is, when the light is ON, I hear very quite bzzzzz.... noise (hardly can hear without paying any attention) while the monitors stays on....

Can anyone help?????
It is much more of Hardware problem, right?

are you sure that your computer works at all. may be your psu is bad.

This happened to my cell phone...the hinge broke, and it caused the cable running between the phone and the screen to get crimped. The phone works, but no backlight.

I would guess that it's a hardware problem. I don't know much about laptops, though, so I can't help you much...

Yes, my computer works fine but the monitor... It is too dark because there is no Backlight on th LCD.
