and that are under the $100 range?

im building a computer for my sister for christmas, and im on a budget... the only higher end game shell be playing on it is sims2... so it doesnt need to be something crazy.

the only thing she needs is the mobo, cpu, memory and psu and shes good to go, the rest of the stuff i already have for her

throw some ideas at me

(searching newegg is taking waaaaaay too long)

seems pretty decent has an onboard geforce 4mx and 6 channel realtek audio.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813138234 cheap but you'd have to buy a CNR card if you wanted surround audio.

these are if you aren't wanting too high end.. this is probably the range you want (being socket A the cpus can be rather decently sped and inexpensive)

theres also radeon XPRESS video boards if you perfer ATI but to my knowledge it's all socket 754

cool... thanks for the help...

will a micro atx fit in an atx case?

If you allready have the caes.. just to be certain check the mount holes on the board and compare with the one you are thinking of buying.

keep in mind geforce4 MX can't do heavy duty pixel shading, such as reflections etc some higher end games require (Ex silent hill 3, Lineage 2, etc) but.. lemme look up the specs on the radeon 300 XPress here
however if you go with an xpress the system will be signfigantly more expensive (for the processor, memory, psu etc as you'd need A lot more)

remember... my sis is really only into sims2 and maybe some rollercoster tycoon.. thats really about it... and browsing the net...

the mx could run the sims2 perfectly fine in 1024*768 probably. yea.. you're right probably not worth the extra $70 differance for the ram cpu etc. other than that, good memory, stable cpu, and you're good to go, (just remember to keep this sucker cool and have good ventilation)
