o/s:Windows ME.
Audio not working.
I am not able to see the volume control on tool bar.

I tried to run a McAfee first aid to fix it.
First aid could not fix it. but it says what the error is:
These three files are missing.
1) cwbase.sys
2)cwbwdm.sys
3)cwbaudio.bin

Please send your ideas.

Thanks,

I tried reinstalling audio drivers from my HP aication recovery CD.

It did not worked. That means Still I could not see the volume control bar.

What system specs you need? I did n't get you.

I down loaded the driver. It is same as the driver from Recovery CD.

The read me file says, To remove all existing drivers under sound, video and game controllers. But nothing is showing in Deveice manager as Sound. So i could not remove any thing.

I rebooted the system.

The problem is not fixed.

If nothing is listed there just try installing the sound drivers directly from the file that u have downloaded.
Try using add hardware wizard.
Does it work??

as on HP web site, I started the PC in safe mode and removed everything from sound, video controllers in Device manager.
Then I installed new drivers.
Still, i could not see volume control.

as you said, I tried "add hardware wizard" and added this crystal audio driver. No luck. Still the problem could not fixed.

Is the sound not working at all. Are u getting windows default sound? Try to check the volume from control panel.
