winrar question

i recently downloaded something and it came in seperate winrar files and when i try to open one of them it says "you need to have the following volume to continue extraction" and then under that it says "insert a disk with this volume and press 'ok' to try again or press 'cancel' to break extraction" does anybody have any advice on what i should do?

Holy crap i figured it out, and it was time consuming

What you were doing is extracting a split-archive, usuallly done in chunks of say 700 MB (note: this can be any size), to fit on a CD. In order to extract it, you'll need all of the parts...

With your problem, it was asking for the second part...so as he said, find it! If it's something you downloaded, check the site. If it was from a CD, check it out. Ask whomever gave it to you...!

yeah, i had to put every single file it came with in its own directory and it was like 80 files, it took forever, and i didnt even know it was going to work either hahahaha

It's pretty easy just make sure you have all the volumes.

They don't have to be in the same directory...
but if they're not, you have to tell it where they are each time...
now THAT will take forever...
