What is this AMD comparable to in Pentium?

Just for the record, there ARE Athlon 64 3100+s. They were some of the very first ones, but were renamed Athlon 64 3200+, however, some escaped and are now in the hands of some very lucky people. I know someone that just got one like 2 weeks ago. It actually says "3100" on the IHS.

no, it's different. a 3.2GHZ Celeron would be about equivalent to a 2.8GHZ Pentium 4, but Semprons have the P-rating. they're not measuring it in terms of its frequency, the P-rating is a measure of its actual performance against other CPU's. so it will perform roughly the same as a 3.1GHZ Pentium 4
