I'd probably go with 1 gig RAM and get an Audigy 2 ZS and a little more space on the hard drive if it were for me though, and this RAM and processor are awsome for overclocking, so no point in spending more on the processor, in the future he could buy any good dual core socket 939 processor if he chose.

WHy are you getting OCZ Performance RAM? If your friend has no intentions of overclocking, go down to OCZ Premier or Value ram. They all work the same, aslong as there is no overclocking being done.

One last thing, I just noticed on newegg that the 3200 is only $10 more than the 3000 and usually its about $45 more so get the 3200! If the price difference is $10 then its an easy choice.

"If your friend has no intentions of overclocking, go down to OCZ Premier or Value ram."

100% correct, I just posted what I'd get, I think it'd be nice to have components you could overclock in the future as gaming demands increase with new games, if it can prevent you from having to start all over rebuilding a new PC, and how well those 3000's and 3200's overclock they should keep you happy for a few years since they overclock to FX-55 speeds with the right RAM and cooling.
