Got computer together and working last night but it's running hot. I resat the hsf once already and it helps a small amount. Room temp. 21c, case temp. 33c, cpu temp. 50-52. That's with case shut. Obviously I had better results with case open.

Any ideas??

to be safe, reset the bios to default settings.
Make sure you can run at default without over heating.

IMO, something is causing it to run hot... What is it?
Trial and Error might be the only way to figure it out.

Once you got it running cool, then tweak the settings.

Oh.... Did you change the bios? If not, never mind this post :)

yes use a hardware thermal probe like hardcano series from thermaltake. asus BIOS straight lies about CPU temperatures by 10C cooler than it really is.

Are you saying that it is actually 51 when it reads 41?
If so I would really like to know where to download an updated bios so those corrections can be made. I'd like an exact temp so I can be sure. I don't want to go at this blindly.

50C-52C is fine for that board. Recheck it...while under load to make sure your not reaching the 60's. CPU's temps are useally about 10C off depending on what bios version your useing for the board.

My temps under load run from 60 to 64. Not good enough!!!!
