PCI-E 16x
?

I am currently on a AGP computer, but I will be building a new one soon. My problem is I don't know how far away 'soon' is.
I might not be able to complete the new computer until end of November, meaning if I got a PCI-E, I couldn't use it until I build my new computer in November.
Should I go AGP or PCI-E and what are the dis/advantages?
Thank you

PCIE-16 cause if you buy the AGp its useless basically once you get a new build...

PCIe is faster, more modern, and cheaper by about $2 or so. They are thinking about AGPx32 but thats far off and any AGP socket out now wont support it. PCIe is the new socket, so it's better for future upgradability.

are u serious....agp32x.....now that would be wikid...:D do u kno wen they are thinking of releasing it ???

For the 6600GT (and most other cards for that matter), you won't see any difference in performance between AGP and PCI-E. The only real benefit right now of PCI-E is upgradeability.

and with PCI-E you can use SLI.

Try and hold out until you build a new computer, then get a SLI board and a PCI-E 6600gt and mabye another later.

but an SLI 6600GT is just a waste of money, you might as well go with one 6800GT or 7800GTX

They dont make newer cards with agp, like the 7800 series. Thats reason enough right there.
