Hi everyone
Im trying to build a gaming pc mainly for games like Quake 4, Doom 3 WoW etc...
I already made up my mind on the processor and Video card which are
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz FSB Socket 939
Ati x800xl PCI Video Card
But I still need a good motherboard, 1 gig of "ok" RAM, HardDrive,
CD/DVD burner and a cheap case with psu
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

-Dominik

Dont mean to burst your bubble, but you are not getting your money's worth if you buy that ati card. You are much better off with a nvidia 6800gt or 7800gt. Just ask Beedubaya:

Yeah, dont even think about a Radeon X8** series card because they suck tremendously. Take it from me, I had an X800 Pro (supposed to be a good card), I got a 6800 GT from Nvidia and I can't believe the difference. Its the same way with all ATI vs. Nvidia cards of the same price range. Do yourself a favor and get the 6600 GT.

For a mboard : DFI Lanparty Ultra
Ram: OCZ Or Kingston:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141423
Dont cheap out a psu:
Heres a good solid case and psu: This is a good deal.

Yeah, the X800 series will no longer provide much bang for your buck. I own an X800XT PE and it's served me well. I paid almost $550.00 for it and now it's about $375 if you can find one.

Games like F.E.A.R are now giving it some trouble with higher settings. It's time to look towards the newest lineup of cards.

7800GT, 7800GTX (or) X1800XL, X1800XT
Games are starting to move in that direction as far as demands go. Do yourself and favor and try to pick one of those up. You'll be damn good for awhile.

either get a a 7800GT or GTX or wait for aits X1800XT (will be available sometime next month)

I would get a gecube X800GTO and a crossfire enabled motherboard and a coolmaster centurion 5 case. The case has really good air flow, clips and things to put things in with rather than screws and is cheap and spacious. The Gecube X800GTO is really good power for price and if it's not good enough double it up with crossfire. Well thats what i have done and it's great!

:D
