i can shut off my firewall..

when iu try to shut off my firewall it tells me that i cant turn it off because the Windows Firewall/Internet cnection sharing service is turned off. How can i re-enable that service?

If your running 2000/XP right click my computer>>manage>>services. Look for it in there and enable it.

Click on the Start button, select Control Panel, select Network and Internet Connections, and choose Network Connections.

Perform the following actions on EACH connection icon, including all Local Area Connections and all dialup connections, in this window:
Right click on the connection's icon and select Properties.

Select the Advanced tab.
If there is a checked box for Internet Connection Sharing, uncheck it.
Click OK.


Close the Network Connections window.

i have lynksys software for the USB54G installed on the computer i dont kknow if that could be the problem?
ill go check linkysys website right now

i got it turned off but it still does not fix my problem in my netowork
my desktop thats using this USB54G netowrk adapter cannot see any other of the computers or even itself i turned off my norton firewall and it still does not work the router is a Linksys WRT54G router that is hooked up to a dell D800 laptop that can see itself but not my computer, all the computers are running windows xp home.with sp2 and the windows firewall disabled and the norton firewalls disabled.
