External hard drive corrupt files! Help!!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some help with my external hard drive(E:/). I havent had it more than 3 months. To begin with it was fine, then a week ago a message came up on the toolbar ' E:/ System Volume Information is Corrupt and Unreadable RUN CHKDSK' which i did. Run CHkDSK was unable to check the drive due to errors.This rendered my drive useless as my pc could not find the drive on 'My Computer' anymore I reformatted the drive and my pc recognised the drive again. Unfortunately, this was short lived as the message' E:/ System Volume Information is Corrupt and Unreadable RUN CHKDSK' turned up again. I took it back to the shop i purchased it from and they said it was a corrupt file.They reformatted it and it was ok for a day then hey presto, back to the same old problem again. This is very frustrating, Any suggestions ......PLEASE

I wouldn't trust that drive AT ALL. I don't suppose it's a Maxtor 120?

Return it for a refund of exchange.

LOL - Same issue with a Maxtor 120GB !

After the 3rd replacement - Maxtor Canada sent me a rebate for the value of the HDD and still sent me another 4th replacement.
