i cleared the CMOS and it still wont boot.

maybe its from when i partitioned the drive and put linuix on it? but it booted yesterday. hmm whats wrong?

I agree with chris and even had copied your statement to say so

I dunno. Just kept raising the vcore I guess. Its at 1.55vcore right now, which is kinda a lot for a Venice, but if it gets me FX-55 performance, oh well.
1.55 isnt a lot...not even for a venice. That's pretty much average for those people who were hitting 2.8-3GHz on the earlier weeks.

I'm tempted to try clocking this thing to see if it'll go higher, but I'm pretty sure my efforts will be futile

Well 1.8v could be debated as being too high...obviously the silicon itself could probably take upwards of 2v if it was properly cooled but the problem is the memory controller

I have heard that 1.7vcore becomes problematic with the memory controller however I have no idea whether this is true or not...although to be frank most AMD64s don't even need that much vcore anymore to reach core maximums
